Axilion Smart Solutions is addressing chronic pollution and congestion in cities worldwide: vehicle emissions currently account for approximately 23% of global CO2 emissions. By harnessing the power of their AI-based Digital Twin platform, Axilion creates "green waves" that optimize traffic flow. This means vehicles can pass through multiple lights without unnecessary stops. Deceleration and acceleration, which currently contribute to 40% of total vehicle CO2 emissions, are greatly minimized through the implementation of these "green waves." These “green waves” also shorten travel times and ensure high accuracy in arrival time, encouraging the use of public transit. “Green Waves” thus have two environmentally positive impacts: reducing individual vehicle emissions, and increasing the use of public transport. In one use case, public transport ridership was up 400%, the frequency of usage increased by 66%, and an annual 140,000 tons of CO2 was reduced.
